New Book: Scripting Recipes for Second Life
I just released a new book. It is called Scripting Recipes for Second Life. Second Life is very different than most of the MMOG's out there. Second Life can be programmed. In Second Life the world is created almost entirely by the users. This is done through a combination of 3D modeling and programming. The programming is done using the Linden Scripting Language (LSL). This book is a collection of recipes for common objects in Second Life. This includes cars, parachutes, helicopters, elevators and many more. Several of the chapters are on-line, and all of the book examples can be obtained from the Heaton Research Second Life HQ.
The book can be purchased in ebook format already. Paperback will be available through Amazon, and the others within a week or so. I am looking forward to applying some of my AI programs to Second Life. It is a great platform for artificial life.
