A Reflection on Spiders, Bots and Aggregators
This presentation was the final requirement for an independent study that I completed for three credit hours while working towards my masters degree at Washington University. This independent study focused on the area of spiders, bots, aggregators and agents. I will soon be beginning the process of writing a book, to be published by Sybex, on the this topic. I am proposing an independent study consisting of two parts. First, I will research this area of technology for the book. The book is designed to present this topic from both a business and technical angle.
Over a period of five months I will research and reflect on the business and technical aspect of this area. The book will consist of many examples, in the Java programming language, that demonstrate real-world applications of this technology. This is not simple regurgitation of facts, but rather a completely new and novel offering that I will publish.
