An Introduction to JSP and the Tomcat Web Server
An overview of what JSP is and how it integrates with the other J2EE technologies EJB, SOAP and XML. A short tutorial will be presented that will show how to install and run the Tomcat Web Server and setup a simple web application. This program will demonstrate basic forms processing and how to access a Microsoft Access database using JSP.
Jeff Heaton is software designer for Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) and teaches introductory and advanced Java at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. Jeff is the author of "Programming Spiders, Bots and Aggregators in Java" (Sybex, 2002) and is currently writing a book to be called "JSP Standard Template Library". Jeff is a Sun Certified Java Programmer, a member of the IEEE, and a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis.
